Harry Winston "the king of diamonds."

Harry Winston, ( 1 March 1896 in Ukraine), died December 28, 1978 in New York, is an American jeweler. It is sometimes called "the king of diamonds."

Since his childhood, Harry Winston works in the small jewelery opened in New York by his father, Jacob, a Ukrainian immigrant arrived in the United States in the early twentieth century with his family.


Throughout his life, he will experience a deep attraction to gemstones, as to keep its acquisitions into the pockets to touch. Many famous diamonds have passed through his hands, which earned him the nickname The King of Diamonds, "the king of diamonds."

He created his company Harry Winston Inc.. in 1932. His first major purchase is the collection of jewelry of Arabella Huntington, died in 1929 and widow of tycoon Henry Huntington railways. These jewels are fashioned but come from haute Parisian jewelery.
